What the stock market has working against it...

70% of all stock transactions are held for 11 seconds? Are you kiddin' me?

This seems to unreal, but I suspect that it's exactly the case. How much does a stock market investor have to swim upstream before overcoming these types of obstacles in addition to taxes, insider trading, investment firms betting against their own clients, and the list goes on...

It may be much better just to unplug the whole system, and leave it unplugged.

    The only chance for profit that us little fish have is to ride the coatails of the big fish. Research and timing still remain the tools to do this.

    I am not sure I believe the stories of most of these traders or even the governments explanation, even if we assume all of it is true and the average time 70% of stocks are held is only 11 seconds, then every 11 seconds 70% of the volume turns over so it doesn't matter if everybody sold all at once because in 11 seconds everybody would buy all at once which would lift the prices back at least in the indexes unless they all went short. Also they say none of them hold positions after the markets close so they have to trade out by the end of closing and the market doesn't crash every day.

    BTW the small investor has better odds of making money than large investors because the large investors move the stock prices too much as they trade in and out whereas the small investors can go all in quickly. Very few of the managed funds beat the index averages which proves that point.
