Take a chance? Even orig MS63 common Morgans sell for $28-$30 in roll quantity. This was about as riskless as it gets, esp. once the variety was spotted. It doesn't get any more risk free than that.
I took the same "risk" once when buying an NGC MS62 1853 A&R quarter. I paid solid money for the coin not because it was nice or anything but because I was almost certain it was the much more expensive 1853/4 variety...and there was literally no downside.
This is a great example of where knowledge is king. Pure joy all the way around. A 10+ Score. However I must deduct a few style points for soliciting praise even if it was in jest.....
And a few more style points for chiseling on the price.......
