He takes priority for me as I didn't have a father figure growing up and the only thing I will do that will cause me to miss any of his games would be out of town for work.
Not gonna be a "Cat's in the Craddle" type dad.......

You do have your priorities straight.
Maybe we'll catch up in January at the BECC show in Tukwilla since it's closer.
I have always liked that song though. It's a classic!

I can't wait for the show... hope to meet and re-meet a bunch of CU members!
Got my sounds all lined up for the drive down I-5.

My helper is taking a turn. Between Medford and Grants Pass on the way to visit family near Albany tonight. Big benefit is to watch the game tonight near Duckland!!!!
Although I will be keeping a close eye on the Giants Phillies game so channel switching may take place. Beautiful day so far, partly cloudy and 68 degrees. Rumor has it there could be rain on the way but then this is Oregon in late October. LOL
Giants and Ducks!!!!
Ahaaaa!
Newsflash, just spotted a few miles South of Grants Pass, Oregon heading North towards Eugene, this tanker truck. Now I have discovered the secret behind the Ducks amped up fans! They bring the stuff in by the Tanker!
Count me in, had 4 cups myself this morning!!!!
Wonder what this tastes like though. HAHA.

<< <i>You dealers with PCGS AU or better Capped Bust Half Dollars, I pay top dollar. See you for two hours Saturday morning. Then, off to a close friend's wedding at a Hood River area winery. >>
Mozin, so did I tell you that I gladly take bottles of wine in trade for coins?!?

<< <i>I've been to this show every year for the last six years and it has rained for at least part of the day every single time I've been to this show. I'm guessing this year will be no exception. >>
That is correct.

Early winter storm. Gonna be a WET and COLD soccer game for my son but I don't envy those driving either

But Charmey does provide tunes that I like so it's all good with copper too!

I said hello to Charmey this evening during dealer setup & she did have some good tunes playing.

Hey, I appreciate people who appreciate good music (as well as good wine and copper!)!

Brian is way to young (like me) to like that music....

<< <i>Since the highlight of the show so far is the music and alcoholic beverages, I'm not feeling very confident about the success of this show. >>
Oh Geese Wei! The wine and music only enhance a show, whether good or bad - no one said it was the "highlight" of the show! Besides, we were only referring to set up day so far, why must you poo poo a show you're not even at? Does it make you feel better that you didn't come?
And just for your info, today has killer attendance! There was a line down toward the parking structure to get in this morning and it is CROWDED in here!

I did a little bullion deal with him (hey! don't melt those down now
I hit the crowded bourse on a mission to add a $5 gold piece to my collection and I did find one that I'm excited to own. It's a Lib in PCGS plastic and I'll be doing a GTG thread as soon as I can get a decent image.
Plan B (if I couldn't find the gold piece) was to look for a Lincoln for my registry set. By the time I finally made ThePennyLady's aquaintance I had already spent my allowance.
It still was nice to meet Charmy and I have to admit her music was a special touch in that normally staid environment; not in the least obtrusive.
Hey "If it's too loud, you're too old!"
I hope everyone has a great show.

I'm an old soul.
The couple times I passed by today, I heard some vintage Tom Petty and some Dire Straits.
I can listen to both those artists all day long.
I'm exhausted after day 1 - Showed up this morning at 7:30am and didn't leave until after 6pm...
Now it's wrestle time with the kids until either they collapse or I do.
Looks like I will attend again Sunday morning early.
As for business, I sold almost everything intended to sell. Buying was horrendous. There were coins, just not ones you needed.
I also want to thank Charmy for the free booze...
Still stuck here at PDX due to weather, but at least the Giants won tonight.

One of the highlights of the show was watching Charmy pass out tokens, I think they were tokens, to a bunch of youngsters that arrived at her table just before I did. This really brought a smile to their faces along with a smile to mine. Obviously Charmy enjoyed this very much from the look on her face while passing out the tokens.
It was a good show and if I would have been in a buying mood it would have surpassed my expectations. As it was I sold almost everything I wanted to at the show.

<< <i>Sure was nice to see so many CU forum members today. >>
I have to agree! I think I've seen more forum members at this show than I have at a Baltimore or FUN show! Farlane, Mozin, Realone, PonyExpress, Quarternut, WTCG, Swampboy, Billygoat, Meltdown, and a couple others I can't think of right now all stopped by and it was great to see/meet them (yes even poo poo Wei enjoyed a glass of some really smooth Pinot with me!) The show was hopping busy today, sold a bunch of coins, bought a great group of beautiful raw Lincolns, a gorgeous AU58 '55 DDO, and a stunning 1889 MS66 RB Indian cent for my personal collection, as well as several really cool and pristine encased Indian cents for my own collection!!! Can't wait to have Todd photograph my newps to share with all of you. I'm also participating in the kids treasure hunt and we were inundated with munchkins looking for the "secret" number at our table!
This is truly one of the best mid-sized shows I do! The show was continually buzzing all day long, and I have to say I and several others even thoroughly enjoyed the tunes that were playing on my Ipod docking station (I recently added a few new ones and it was really fun to hear my newly added In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida by Iron Butterfly!!!!).
The Penny Lady®
I bought a few more nice Indian cents from some local dealers this morning and am looking forward to getting home tonight just in time to head out for my 11-day trip back east to CoinFest and Baltimore!
The Penny Lady®
Saw a few familiar faces, and met some new ones (forum members, too) - Other than that, it was just the usual suspects with the same wears... oh, and real coins had real high prices, so I came home with nothing new. How did everyone else do?
Saw Realone again today - I was very glad he stopped back since he had left his loupe at my table and I was anxious to return it to him (he said he hadn't even known it was missing). That's about it for this show.
However, I hope you don't mind my making an observation and comment on something kind of personal: Guys, could you please either tighten up your belt or wear a shirt long enough to cover up your unsightly bottom crevices!!! This particular female for one certainly does not appreciate the extra flesh exposure that seems to present itself at least once during every show - not that I specifically look for such scenery because, believe me, it takes everything I have to restrain myself from throwing one of the back table sheet covers over these clueless neanderthals! (at least I think they must be clueless?!)
Thank you for letting me rant a little - must be the double Bloody Mary taking affect!
The Penny Lady®
I don't believe you without pictures
Charmy: "Excuse me sir, could you turn around for a moment?"
Buttcrack showing coin show attendee: "ummm, sure. Why?"
Charmy: *Click* "Uh...no reason. Thanks!"
