    WHAT????

I offered the $80 a roll & was told it was the highest offer.
You asked how many I wanted.
    I say all 12 rolls.
You said you would send them to me for $1000!
When I questioned your math (80x12=$960), you said that 1 roll was "a 1957 sealed bank roll ".
So I said I would take the 11 circs for $880.

I get treated like this after traded the Washington quarters you needed (mostly '30's and 40's D&S mints coins) for Mercs exclusively from the 40's?

Others may disagree, but when you tell someone they're high bidder & how many rolls do they want, it's an agreement to sell.

How do others here making a higher offer know that you'll honor your 'deal'?

I'm going to have to side with aija here. Truly bad form.image
Today's mighty oak is just yesterday's nut that held its ground.
  • I have more rolls for sale that have NOTHING to do with the deal that I made with Ajia. I am not screwing over Ajia at all in any manner as I have more rolls for sale than the 12 rolls that Ajia wants to buy.

Then why didn't you tell me it was a done deal & to send payment (like your doing now)?

And why would you up the price & try to throw in the sealed bank roll if you had 12 (or more) rolls?
And I presume it's and ORIGINAL SBR with BU coins.

Look back at our PMs, I made the offer on the 13th, you said I was 'highest offer' on the 14th (@$1000).

I asked you twice after that if we had a deal or not......no response on that, only if I liked the packaging for the Merc!!

NOW, after this post am I seeing we're on with the ORIGINAL DEAL of 12!
But no info on how you want payment.
I have your addy because of the trade, so am I to presume check?

Come on, what is a person to think?

how is telling someone they have the highest offer and then asking them how many rolls they are interested in considered a sale ? that is not a deal set in stone, he was told that his offer was the highest (thus far) not "OK, im going to take your offer, i'll sell you as many as you want". you asked him twice (your words) if there was a deal or not, no answer means no concrete deal. i personally do not view that as a set in stone deal. maybe the guy wanted time to consider it and doesnt care for being pressured. and it isnt just the fact that i would not sell to aija due to his responses to ebay gripes. here is an open question to aija, had silver dropped to $4 an oz before you completed payment, would you feel obligated to complete the payment ? or would it have been just a pending offer ?

I know you directed this to the buyer:

"here is an open question to ajia, had silver dropped to $4 an oz before you completed payment, would you feel obligated to complete the payment ? or would it have been just a pending offer ?"

but my response would be, once a deal is "locked", both parties are obligated to fulfill the agreement NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS AFTERWARDS. But thats just me and mho.
If you have done many transactions with the same buyer/seller and you and the buyer/seller have an agreement in place that would cover things like that happening, then that would supercede. If not, both parties are obligated to complete the deal as was agreed upon no matter what. Please dont waste your time arguing this (anyone). This has been "understood" since the beginning of bartering and if you try to dispute it, you're wrong simply based on principle.
You might have a case in a Court of Law if it came down to that, but you'd still be wrong and word would get out to not do any dealings with you going forward.
Have I explained this thoroughly and in detail enough once and for all?

"Then why didn't you tell me it was a done deal & to send payment (like your doing now)?" this statement (by the potential buyer) leads me to believe that the seller did not tell the potential buyer that it was "a done deal"

  • What amazes me is that almost all of the old threads regarding the OP have disappeared.
I was able to find this one. Less we forget.

  • The only evidence that I am aware of is the history on these boards of the scamming nature of the OP.

Idk the OP personally, but he wanted some circulated quarters for an album he was making. I went through my 90% and took the best ones and traded him for some dimes. Since I have a lot of 90%, he wondered if I had some franks for an album. I sent him $5 in some nice halves and am waiting to get my dimes. But overall, I've had no issues with him so far.

  • I have had many successful transactions with ajia and trust him fully. He was clear and easy to deal with.

All I know about Hendrix is his previous history here and a recent solicitation to buy Morgans and he would give all money received to another fellow to help him out.

I've had two BST transactions as a seller with Hendixkat and they were both a breeze. No problems, fast payment and good communication...IMHO, a little slack might be in order here

I'm glad that your transactions with him went smoothly. But based on what I have read in or about old threads involving him, I can certainly understand why some forum members who are aware if, feel that a little slack might not be in order.

    I just don't get it.
I've asked this before years ago about when a deal was a deal.

When someone tells you that you have the highest offer, how many rolls do you want, is that not a 'verbal' commitment?

Maybe not a legal 'contract' in some states, maybe so in others.
Whether you want to legally pursue it is another matter.

BUT I would say that here.....on these forums, that should suffice.

I have been told by Hendrixkat that the acceptance was PM'ed to me, but never came over (damm ISP).
So, we are on for the original rolls+ a few more.

SO.....if others want to purchase however many rolls Hendrixkat has left over for more than 16x face feel free.

And to answer ebaybuyer, "here is an open question to aija, had silver dropped to $4 an oz before you completed payment, would you feel obligated to complete the payment ?"
Yes I would feel obligated to complete the payment.
In fact I had traders remorse in trading the quarters I did for dimes that I thought would be 'generic', pretty much trading silver for silver.
I made that known to Hendrixkat, which I never should have.
I made the deal & I felt obligated to stick with it.....and have.....and would stick with this deal, even if silver value went down.

My recent transaction with Hendrixkat was excellent. He purchased a large lot of silver coins form me (and is no doubt pleased he grabbed it when he did!).

I hope Ajia's purchase ends up well and that folks consider removing some of the heat from their earlier posts on this thread. They don't promote interest in the hobby nor confidence in the BST board. Just my 2c. No flames, please. Peace out...

  • Why would warning someone of a members' past scamming be wrong? Wouldn't you like to know if the person you were dealing with has a history here of luring people in and then taking advantage of them? It's your choice to ignore it.
