Is this shill bidding on eBay? Buyer relists item almost immediately

I was the bottom fishing underbidder on this Seated dime. The "sale" looks very suspicious to me. The "buyer" is either the world's fastest flipper or put it a bid to protect the coin. Should this be reported to eBay?

Probably not shill bidding, but rather a buyer betting on the come. I've had many buyers in the past do this with coins they've purchased from me.

I followed that coin on Ebay and had a snipe bid at just below the price it sold for. I think that the buyer got a good deal. And I see no evidence of shill bidding on the part of the seller, whom I believe runs clean auctions.

Dear Bayard, I don't know for sure what to say about this particular auction, but a while back I was looking to buy some original proof sets from 1950-1955, and the picture that this seller gave was a small thumbnail pic that you could not even enlarge. If it were me, I'd stay away from this guy. He gives off an odor that I'm not comfortable with. Tony.

I've seen and met the seller at shows. He has very nice coins and appears easy to do business with. Also, the images I have seen for his Ebay listings looked perfectly fine.

Edited to add: My above comments were about the initial seller of the item, not the seller who is trying to flip it. This could get confusing if we don't specify which seller we are talking about.

The seller has a lot of cheap sub $25 stuff, the coin does not fit with much of what he sellers but the coin may just be being flipped for a profit. May not be a great idea to sell a coin before you get it.

I don't see shilling but you never know. I will say that I am not a fan of the "liquid look" toning that comes after an old bath on coins with PL or Proof surfaces. While I know they are MA, I never the less do not see them as original or desirable. But hey I can't afford classic proof coinage so I guess it isn't a problem.

The current seller might not have his new coin in hand yet. If that's the case and he wanted to include images in his listing, he had no other choice.

You want to see shilling just check out neyronix auctions. Coin sells to one of his shills then relists them under neyronix again and again.

Picture theft (without original owner's consent) will get a listing shut down if reported by the picture's original owner.

Here you go Mark,

Look at the winner, he will relist the coins after awhile. I see the same quarters from him forsale then sell, only to relisted again and again.

Look at bid activity with seller.

Edited to add, look who the under bidder is on most of his completed sales as well. Same ID.

I know neyronix well.

They have a lot of stuff up every week and some buyers buy a ton of material from them and list.

As for items that sell, then are relisted by Neronix, I can't comment.
