more 2010 coins in circulation. these look funny to me.....

definitely has lots of luster but looks "grainy". i know the mint was getting rid of the spaghetti hair but the finish looks different. the obverse shows it more and it almost looks frosted like a sandblasted finish. is this just a late die state? i got two at a store i frequent and probably should have asked if he had more. first 2010 quarters i`ve seen this year. hey Dave, ya need one??? image

    Blah... I've had enough of the rotating quarter designs.

    The hair looks better, but with current mint products, that's not saying much...
    Always looking for attractive rim toned Morgan and Peace dollars in PCGS or (older) ANA/ANACS holders!

    Disappointing they didn't take advantage of all that space in the fields on the obverse to get "E Pluribus Unum" on there.

    Why not also add the year to the obverse?

    i guess those early die strikes will be mostly that satin-finish
    and/or those came from a new uncirc.set?

    Lately, I have been a stink on this subject, "that all 2005 to 2010 circulating coins are nothing more than watered-down strikes from used SF dies." Not long ago in another thread I asked Ricc (Type 2) to post a mint set SF next to one of his circulating coins. Well, after looking at the two coins, I have noticed a couple of other differences other than the satin finish surfaces, missing hair details and thicker letters in the circ. coin. Are these strike charactoristics more indications that circ. coins are struck from used SF dies?

    Looks like you're one of the lucky ones that got the first 220 coins! At least it's not one of the 90! You can tell the difference since the last 555 have had high luster... Yosemite? Nevermind, wrong thread! image

    There's a lot of marks on the reverse/obverse. It looks like they scratch very easily? Did they change the composition of the quarter?
