An Idea for Christmas/Holiday Giving *Please Read*

Every year for some time now our family picks some friends and neighbors to do our famous “Ding Dong Dash”. Our kids have a blast sneaking up to a house, placing a box full of cookies, candies and treats (all homemade, of course), ringing the doorbell and running like mad so as not to get caught. Most years we also find a family that we adopt (secretly) and have our kids go shopping for them. It teaches our kids the joy of giving and to appreciate what our family has been blessed with. We also encourage our kids to drop a buck or two in the Salvation Army Kettles when they see them.

This got me thinking…… (That’s always dangerous)

What would happen if this Christmas Season (or Holiday Season for the PC crowd), if we got a couple hundred people to drop a 2x2’d Morgan or two, or 1/10 oz Gold Eagle, or whatever into a Kettle or 2 all on the same day? It seems every year you hear a story about some “rare” coin or gold being dropped into a Kettle. If the news services picked it up, might give a boost and some attention to coin collectors and collecting. Plus, it just sounds like fun.

I’d be in to drop a few MS Morgan Dollars into different pots. I might even pry a small gold coin out of my safe for this. Any interest or Ideas? I'll even spearhead event.
I used to be somebody, now I'm just a coin collector.
