Buchanan Liberty Unc defect/error??

I am a totally newbie. I just received this unc Buchanan Liberty today.
How do you call this defect? Is it called strike through?
Should I keep it or exchange it?

    I'd definitely send it back for exchange. Nobody wants that in their collection.

    It appears to be a 'struck thru debris' type error;
    however, the value of the coin itself FAR exceeds
    the value of the minor error.

    It's what I call a 'White Elephant', and agree that
    it should be returned to the Mint for a replacement.
