No, no.. that one is no where near what I missed....the "cud" on the reverse makes the common variety extremely rare...you're basically comparing a R-3 coin to an R-6+ or R7
I also think the price was not that low, a VG+ Details (scratches) example sold at Heritage back in May for $776...
QN >>
I think I would rather have the coin the OP won for $200 more than the Heritage coin, but I must agree, there is not much meat left on the bone at $1000
Damn you old quarters guys!!!! placed a bid on the PCGS AG3 and won it for no reason other than your links,GRRRRRRRRR guess I will throw it in my box of 200 and forget about it.

I was pretty surprised about the price on that PCGS Ag3........are Bust quarter values skyrocketing???

I think it was a combo of me bidding too much and a PCGS slab and a clear over date with extra credit for pre 1836
<< <i>(I probably would have won, too, as I feel like it went cheap) ...anyone ever do that? >>
No, because I use a sniping program.
Sure, you've got the purists who take pride in their "manual snipes", but I'll let esnipe do it for me every time.
When I lose a coin I'm really playin' for keeps on, it's because I didn't bid enough, period. The ones I've really gone after but lost are not the ones that sold cheaply.

<< <i>Die Progression for the 1825 Capped Bust Quarters...Pretty cool even if your not interested in this kind of stuff. >>
Interesting, very interesting...seeing that makes drool. I think that one may be the finest known in terms of eye appeal.
<< <i>I don't know how I missed it. Really cool, too bad. Sounds like something I would have purchased. >>

I can't say I blame ya... Bust quarters are undervalued in general, in my opinion!

I agree... Especially on the 1815.
