Super nice S18b (picture credit CRO Coins)...

I had a S18b once and this example makes mine look like road-kill.

    Super nice is right!
I don't want to know what the price is, as even scudzy '94's of any variety and grade are commanding long dollar in the market place now.
RTS, if yours was roadkill, I'm guessing my new '94 would be the road itself, gravel, potholes, and all image

If I am not mistaken the penny pictured was $8K or so in the Stack's Halpern sale 22 years ago.

$8,800 to be exact. There were two 18b's in the Halpern sale. the other one was a mint state coin , it sold for $15,400

Wish I was on to the early copper in the 1990s when it could have been purchased for a small fraction of its current value. I recall buying a F-VF common variety 1803 large cent at a show in 1996 or so, for $5. It had some minor roughness, but it would fetch over $100 right now. Rare Sheldon varieties could still be cherry-picked from dealers stock, as many did not even bother to look them up.
