I'm not familiar with the series or DDR, but that appears to be a DD to me.

That's machine doubling... not a DDR.

    Edited to add:

It it were a DDR with that much rotation, the tops of the A and M in AMERICA would look like they had 2 points. That notching isn't present on this coin...

    Straight Forward Machine Doubling.

    No Notching.

    No Separation.

    No Doubling.

Absolutely machine doubling. If you want to find the real deal check the 1970 Mint sets.
  • thanks all. i found a couple on ebay where you can see the notching. thanks tahoe for the links.

If only that worked........I've gone through quite a few with absolutely no luck. image

Machine doubling - very common in that era. (especially 1969(

The quarter doubled dies aren't as easy to find as the doubled die dimes but they can be found with a moderate amount of searching. A bonus is the ones in the Mint sets are early die state examples. One thing that may complicate the search is that many of the Mint sets have already been checked but it's still the best place to look.
  • That particular reverse, type M or RDV-007, has both some master hub doubling and deliberate master hub recutting. Check the extension on the second leaf to the left of the arrow points.
