Should a circulated Trade Dollar WEIGH the same as a circulated Morgan Dollar?

GRANDAMGRANDAM Posts: 8,785 ✭✭✭✭✭
A local shop has several circulated Trade Dollars for sale. I want to weight them before buying.

A circulated Morgan weighs 26.6 - 26.8 grams. Should a circulated Trade Dollar weigh about the same depending on wear?

Thanks, GrandAm image

Trade dollars are heavier than Morgan dollars and the weight and finess are shown on the reverse of the trade dollar.

Tolerances were very tight on trade dollars. If it's XF or better then
be very wary if it's more that .1 low.

I think you left out the word "weigh" in your thread title.
    When in doubt, don't.
