Jefferson guys, How big a deal would this be?

I bought THIS COIN on Ebay because it seemed like a good deal. It arrived today and the first thing I noticed is that the mintmark looked doubled. A quick search showed that there is such a thing as a 1946-D/D and one, MS66 FS sold on Heritage for over 4 grand. If it does turn out to be a D/D, is it really that valuable? Sorry, I don't do pictures and if I did, I doubt I could give a good picture of a mintmark. Thanks.
I collect circulated U.S. silver

The D/D being referred to for $4K would be a D over inverted D... my bet would be you might be seeing one of the other four versions of the D/D which are the minor versions and are not designated by PCGS.
To verify, send it to the CONECA gods.
Hope this helps!

This site has RPM-005 pictured but none of the others. This is not the CP variety.

He got a good deal, considering that would turn off a few bidders in my opinion!
A good place to look at a picture of the expensive variety is in the Registry Sets. Go to the Jefferson Full Step Complete Variety Sets 1938 - Present, and look at the Corso Set. You'll see a great coin!
Nice purchase, no matter what it is!
Hope this helps.
