Hard to say without knowing the scoring system for your league...or even the # of teams in your league.

But, without knowing any of that info, I probably would pick Andre Johnson.

    Good luck tonight!

    Tom

I agree Tom. I wouldn't want to give my opinion unless I knew those two things first, it could change the answer dramatically.

I had a 14-team draft on Sunday, and I was the 7th pick. It's an RB-heavy league since rushing TDs are worth 7, and all other TDs are worth 5. The first seven picks were as follows:

    Chris Johnson
    Adrian Peterson
    Maurice Jones-Drew
    Ray Rice
    Andre Johnson
    Drew Brees
    Frank Gore

...on the way back up, I ended up with LeSean McCoy for my #2 RB. Since it was an RB-heavy league, most of the first two rounds were RBs, with a couple QBs and WRs thrown in there. I considered myself lucky.

Regardless of your league scoring, you might as well consider C.Johnson, AP, MJD, and Rice gone before it gets to you. If Gore or Turner are still there, grab them. If not, go get yourself an Andre Johnson or Brees. Aaron Rogers looks very strong this year too. Personally, I think it's dumb to draft a QB or WR in the first round, regardless of how deep you are in the draft order, but that's just me. I have four more drafts to attend between Sunday and Tuesday. Five leagues for me this year, I think I'm a glutton for punishment! It helps that I won my 12-team $75 league last year! image

EDIT TO ADD: After reading your league scoring, DO NOT draft a QB in the first round. Four points for a passing TD?? As if...

Here's the way I see the top 10 for the league I'm in, which is similar:

    Chris Johnson
    Adrian Peterson
    Maurice Jones-Drew
    Drew Brees
    Ray Rice
Aaron Rodgers ( I freaking love this guy, will be # 1 QB overall by season's end if he's healthy)
    Andre Johnson
    Michael Turner
    Peyton Manning
    Rashard Mendenhall

But the more important thing is, who you draft in rounds 3-7 will determine your season. That and injuries.

In a PPR (point per reception) league quarterbacks have lower values overall. Plus our league only has 4 pts for a passing TD, devaluing them even more.

I took my QB in the 6th round (95th) overall and got Carson Palmer. Very happy with him there. Should put up decent #s. Imagine taking Manning in the 1st round and having him sit on the bench (because the Colts have clinched a bye) while you're in the Playoffs in your league? Not fun! I've seen it happen.

I wouldn't touch a QB in the first 2-3 rounds depending on the size of your league. QB is deep and you can get a top QB if you wait. RB's (non-sharing) are at a premium. I would target Gore, Turner or Mendenhall at #7. If they are gone, I would go with Andre Johnson.

The Burg is right, rounds 3-7 are crucial. Not sure how many guys are in your league but if it is a 10 man league, I would go with 2 RB's. On your way back in the 2nd round, I would be really tempted to draft Ryan Matthews. I have a sneaky suspicion he is going to have a great year.

Ahh, that makes more sense. I've never played in a PPR league but I can see how that would really devalue QB's. I think you got a steal with Palmer, he's got two big targets this year and they should rack up some points if everyone stays healthy and on the field.

One of the other things that makes Rodgers attractive to me is his match up in week 14. Week 14 is the first round of the playoffs in most leagues. He faces Detroit that week. However, I can't really see myself drafting a QB in the first round. I've told myself if he falls to me later in the 1st round I might pull the trigger. I used to have a rule of drafting the best RB available in the first round, but that is changing. Also depends how the scoring is as others have mentioned.

I don't see any PPR in the OP's scoring system, but I agree with what has been said about it. I love PPR leagues!

Why so much love for Mendenhall? I mean at #7 that would be insanity... I guess I don't have much love for anyone on the Steelers Offense.

I also have the 7th pick...

I am trying to go like this:

    Round 1 -- M.Turner

Round 2 -- Peyton Manning (don't wanna wait on a QB)

    Round 3 -- D.Jackson/Boldin/S.Smith (Car)

Round 4 -- Forte / A.Forster (or best avaliable RB

    Round 5 -- H. Nicks / D. Bowe / Garcon

    Round 6 -- O.Daniels TE

    Round 7 -- Best back up RB -- M.Bush / R.Bush A.Bradsaw

    Round 8 WR/RB

    Round 9 WR/RB

    Round 10 DeF

    Round 11 Back up QB

You may have to adjust where you want to pick a TE because there is some depth there and mayb you rather wait and get 2 like, Cooly, MIller, Boss., etc....

remember to get a solid 3rd and 4th RB, so if they start to come of the board quick you may need one earlier....

If you need more help PM me..

Dear Lord, I agree with Jeff!!

And another thing. Turner in a non-PPR league at number 7 would be the steal of the draft, period!.

If this is a Yahoo based scoring league ( which it looks like) then Defenses are very important! You can usually pick up a team on the waiver wire based on match-ups.

Mendenhall was terrific last year and will be a beast this year. The Steelers plan to use him as a workhouse on nearly every down and near the goal line as well as catching more passes out of the backfield. If you can get a back that does not share carries, catches passes out of the backfield in a PPR league, and plays on a solid team that scores lots of TDs, you jump on him, if Johnson, Rice, Jones Drew, Gore and Johnson are taken.

I think you may need to upgrade at WR at some point, unless Smith can bounce back and produce like he has done in the past with a new QB. I had him last season, and he was maddeningly inconsistent and barely even showed up on the stat sheet some weeks (luckily I got Austin on waivers early in season). On that same WR note, it will be interesting to see how well Ocho and TO can coexist and share production. Holmes was a good pick late and should be productive once his suspension is over. I believe that Foster has now supplanted Slaton at starting RB for Houston (for now at least).

Great team. And I think LT's a steal. Really.

Look, the Jets ran the ball over 600 times last year. 600 times!!!!

So give Greene another 350 or so carries, and say Sanchez comes along in his QB progress and you only run the ball a little less than last year. Take
another backup RB and give him 50 carries and guess what?? There's still a lot of carries unaccounted for, carries LT will get!!

The guy is well past his prime and still put up 12 TD's. Now he's rushing behind one of the NFL's top offensive lines.

I'm not saying he's still the same LT. But I bet he punches in 10 TD's. And at pick 127, that's a steal.

I'm basically rookie and old veteran heavy, a dangerous combination. My league played out strange, in that we need 2 kickers, so there was a kicker run around 130 pick, and I was able to get some values, down side is I am stuck with three crappy kickers, one of which may not start, and I'll be scrambling on the bye week to find a replacement, if there even is one available.
