How to sell a coin like this?

I have a J-161 pattern in a PCGS PR64BN holder. A very PQ coin that I like very much but have to sell so I can study in the US next year (I live in Europe).
The coin is currently in the US with a dealer who has it out at all major and some smaller shows. It has also been listed on the BST for a couple of months, but unfortunately it is not selling. I know it's summertime, the market is slow, but I can't wait much longer.
Unfortunately it is a very specialized coin with no dealers truly specializing in patterns. I have received a few lowball offers but that's it. I prefer not to auction it, but are there any other possibilities? Any dealers who can be recommended and might be interested in such a coin? Funny enough, the dealer who has it right now was offered a similar coin in the same grade and holder for a 10% higher wholesale price than my retail price.
Thanks,
Dennis
PS I hope other people don't mind this post, it is not meant as an extra bst thread. Please ignore it if you feel so. I'm just thinking if people have other ideas to sell it.

<< <i>By the way, at what price did you consign it to the dealer at and what is he asking for it? My sight-unseen guess is that it's about a $1400-$1500 coin, retail and that you and/or the dealer are asking too much for it.
I sold a PCGS PR64RB J-161 (Bronze) last year for $1850 or $1900... Sorry I deleted the pics but only took a week to move.
I've owned and handled this PCGS PR64RB J-160 (Copper) three times in the last 5-6 years and it never lasted more then a hour each time at $2750.
Edited to add:
I just got a PM from a member at 5:51pm on the PCGS PR64RB J-160 (58 minutes after posting) as to why this wasn't offered to him and to contact him if it becomes available again.
If the dealer has had it out at all of the major shows and some smaller shows, you are probably better putting it in an auction. I am not an expert, but in an esoteric area like this, it probably only takes one show for the coin to be walked all over the bourse, so keeping it with the dealer for even more time might not be productive at this point.

As for the auction, I'm just unsure about that path, although it might be the best option now. Unfortunately had a couple of not so good results lately (even with coins bought below wholesale prices).
Thanks for the help anyway all

And my guess is that based partly upon whatever he paid for his, Dennis wants more than most of those sold for. That's certainly his prerogative, but if that is the case, it might be a very tough sell.
<< <i>The ebay fee it it didnt make reserve will be FARRRRRR less than the bite a dealer will take buying it ugly cheap and then selling it retail. >>
True, but it is also more than not throwing away that fee on a coin that fails to meet reserve. One lower cost alternative would be to list it on Ebay with a required minimum bid, as opposed to a reserve. I understand that the fee is less that way.

Id be after those specialty collectors and I think a lot of them search ebay frequently looking for such items. just of course my opinion.
I'm embarassed to admit that this pawn shop dealer is from Connecticut and this ad still plays regularly on TV. If it were New Jersey, I could understand. But Connecticut?

<< <i>Drop the price and it will sell and unfortunately what you bought it for doesn't matter any more. Just make sure you get a great photo of it! Good luck!!!
He y I am just the messenger so don't shoot me. I too will be unfortunately selling some of my collection soon to pay for a new apartment building and I know nobody will give a hoot what i paid for them. I will price it at market price, if they sell they sell if they don't then I will keep them, as simple as that. >>
