Gold has nowhere to go but up. These prices help keep your capital gains taxes down.

Sometimes they (and others) will have a loss leader priced at cost, or even slightly below to bring in new customers.

These are normal retail markups for non-essential pretty things. Too many coin dealers cannot get past the dirty t-shirt poverty row sell 5% below wholesale mentality.

TV airtime is expensive and high markups are needed to cover costs. Anything sold on television requires high margins.
