Question about 2001 Sacagawea missing edge letter

I tried some search but couldn't find the answer.

The 2001 Sacagawea roll I just opened has nothing on the edge. (My 2010 Sacagawea dollar has stars and letters on the edge)
Is this common for 2001 Sacagawea dollar?

yes.

the 2009 and 2010 Sacs have the edge lettering, the 2000-2008 do not.

Edge lettering on Sacs began in 2009 with the introduction of the Native American reverse series.

No wait, PCGS dropped that variety like a hot potato!

Whatever, while going through my 2001's which I purchased from the Direct Ship Program back at the first of the year, I had to fight the urge to cry out "EUREKA" with every roll I opened.

I guess I've been "Edge Letter Trained"!
