I have only seen the Kevin Von Erich card and it was on EBAY a few months ago in the $10 plus range in horrible condition. I have never seen the entire set and I think on that website they only have his card pictured. That would be worth alot to someone in Texas. Kerry Von Erich is the Series 82B and his card is starting to go up. I have 10 or 11 of them. You can also find them in the 1986 Monty Gum Set but those are small cards with paper chads hanging from them and blank brown backs. Also the 1985 Wrestling All Stars magazine cards features them and very rarely show up as singles. Two sets sold last week at $100 a piece still in the magazine in EX to NM. I have a set in perfect condition that I got for $21 in the last year and was stunned when I got it as the cards were perfect. I would imagine the set you mentioned is extremely rare and probably less than 1000 sets. I grew up in Orlando so NWA and WWF was mostly what I saw at the time but as I am sure you know the Von Erichs had a cult like following like no one else. I think the only thing that would hold a set back like that is most of their fans were chicks and they probably are not buying wrestling cards today.
Your life must suck! Every post out of you is negative and condisending. What pleasure do you get out of acting like such a jack ***? I almost feel bad for you but don't. You fit the typical message board type, lots of balls becuase you are only using a keyboard.
I would put Steve Austin on any list of 10 most popular wrestlers. Not my cup of tea but you can argue he was #1. I have my 1987 & 1985 Topps WWF sets on the SGC board with some scans if anyone is interested. Those are my two favorite. My vote for the best wrestling set of all time goes to the 1998 & 1999 WCW/NWO Authentic Autograph Sets. Some great names in there. I am also putting together a PSA Tristar TNA Impact Autograph Set. It's nice to see them getting some recognition on this board.

You're right. I wouldn't dare talk smack about how gay wrestling is if I were in the same room with you. I would just look at Rick Flair's hair, cape and feather boa and say "Now THERE'S a true goddamn American Hero!!!"

I haven't watched pro wrestling since I was a young lad in the early 90's when Bret Hart ruled the world, but I recall reading in SI or SN or some similar zine a few years ago that Austin was the top merchandise mover/top draw in pro wrestling history...at least in terms of total revenue. Over Hogan or Flair or Andre or Hart or any of the older pre-WWF guys. Of course that probably has something to do with the late 90's pro-wrestling boom which I believe had the highest tv ratings and revenues when the WWF and Ted Turner's organization were heavily competing against each other.
The auctions are ending tonight so it will be interesting to see the final price on the Ric Flair card.

I am going to the TNA PPV tonight in Orlando to see Ric Flair return to the ring. I am hoping it brings me good luck and I win the auction. I have my final bid in so now we just have to see what happens.

Great deal. I was fairly confident that the items I wanted would run up at the end so I dropped out of the race on the other seven cards I did not win. You got a great deal! Inoki is not very popular here in the states but I bet a card like that could sell for big money in Japan. Not sure how you list an item in Japan but it would be worth a shot!
I still think you cost yourself quite a sum of money by talking so openly about what your were bidding on and how you were going to bid. If you're not going to embrace the technology of sniping, you should still keep your interest close to the vest, especially on a forum where you're not only known, but don't know anyone else well either.
I don't. All of the cards ended the same way and I only contested four out of the eleven of them. I don't think you realize how rare these are and it only takes a few people to want them for the prise to run up a great deal.
The Supperstar Billy Graham I won is a 1/1 10 and will most likely never see another 10. I have opened numerous so called high end sealed sets with pressure on the corners. It was the first card in the set and with the way they were wrapped it has the exact same problems as the Andre the Giant with massive damaged corners on a large number of the cards.
Quite frankly I don't even care if I over paid for the cards. I want to build the best set of these I can and if it cost me a few hundred more o'well.
These cards are never hitting the market from my end so I am not concerned. I have many duplicates of every card in the set and if another Flair comes up I will be bidding on that one too. The same goes for every card from these that hits EBAY. I have prices in my head that I am always willing to pay and in a large number of the auctions I lose. But because I am always watching and bidding I have stolen many of these cards from sellers.
Matter of fact I would be thrilled if I over paid becuase that means the next time I will get them cheaper and keep adding to my stock pile!
