Question - Ordering (Shipping from the Mint?) of the 5 oz. Silver National Pucks to the big dealers

I know that there are only a few major bullion distributors who initially receive the bulk bullion silver shipments from the mint.

However, I was hoping someone here has already asked about the bulk bullion shipments::
(notice how I keep using "bulk?" That's on purpose. I'd like to know how the mint will initially sell these to their major distributors.)

How are the 5 oz silver National Pucks going to be made available?
+will the number of coins in an tube and box be different than with the ASE bullion?
+will an order be for a single design, or multiple designs?
+will an box be for a single design, or multiple designs?
+will an tube be for a single design, or multiple designs?

    Since they are (or will be) making a new one each 10 weeks, I would imagine one type per tube, box, etc. Maybe the distributors will do some creative packaging, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

    Maybe I was sleeping, but is it not possible to buy these directly from the mint?

    They are being sold as bullion, same as regular ASE bullion through the pre approved bullion dealers. The mint director stated in an article maybe in 2011 they will have collectors versions. Regards Mike

    I keep hearing they may be available "at once" from the distributors. However, the Dept of Interior (Nat'l Park Service) is also able to purchase directly from the Mint also and retail independently.

    Sounds like this was not the case at the Hot Springs urinal-coin* kickoff according to this post.

    Ok-Ok so the coin DOES look better than the drawing...

    Did they ever solve the problem of getting the edge lettering to fit on the edge without disrupting the obverse and reverse fields?

    Will PCGS be making special oversized holders for these?? I called PCGS customer service and the girl didn't even know that these coins are being made.

    The man has poor Longacre working so hard he slept right though all the announcements. The Mint said these would be sold through the normal bullion dealers (just like SAEs); however, they did leave the door open for a possible direct from the Mint version.

    I suspect they will be issued in green boxes (perhaps they will choose another color for these), packed in tubes (I think it will be 10 per tube), of a single design per box, with a total of 100 per box (i.e. 500 troy ounces).

    Someone posted something here about 1 to 2 weeks ago with similar information. This year only they will all be released at the same time (because it took so long to figure out the planchette issue). In 2011 and on they will be released at the same time as the matching quarters.

    Just looking at Apmex's placeholder listings of these, and noticed the comment that there would be mintage limits.
    Can anybody confirm this, and if so have the limits been revealed yet?

    I have heard there will be mintage limits, but if so, they have not been publicized yet.

    Last I heard is the Mint is still getting the puck blanks in and will be striking in July, Aug, Sept.

    Not sure if that was rumor or conjecture. If anyone has more current info -- ?
