Second/Third day ANA Summer Seminar Report!

As Glenn posted in the other thread, I had a busy day yesterday. Woke up early once again, and had my first full day of my counterfeit detection class, from 9-11:45, and 1:15-4. Then after dinner I proceeded to the ANA Library to continue helping with the cataloging, which we finished earlier than they ever have before. Also exciting was the fact that my photos of one of the ancient coins were featured on the front cover, the first time this had ever been done! I also got a mention on the inside cover, which was cool. Here's the finished cover:

I ended up cataloging for about 6 hours yesterday. Hopefully we'll make a lot of money for scholarships!
Now to today. Went to class again, which was interesting. Then went to the same coin store that I bought this 1879CC Morgan at, and once again spent too much money. I got a nice GSA 1882CC Morgan that's been graded by me, Skip Farazzi, and Brian Silliman as an MS64, maybe PL. I got it for a bit less than the price on the older so I think I did well. I also picked up the Morgan toner.

But the coolest part of today was the mini-seminar I took called Minting Mayhem. Essentially these guys from Wisconsin brought a smelter, a metal roller, a planchet cutter, and a manual press for us to use. It was awesome! i rolled out my pewter, punched out some blanks, and got to make my own coins and errors! I made another post for this, so look at that HERE.
Overall, another great day!

<< <i>Wei, I remember buying my first slabbed Buffalo Nickel (probably a 38-D) in PCGS MS 66 in 1995 or so for $65 from Ryan Carroll...So yes, coin trading was somewhat encouraged. >>
Ryan sold a coin?! OMG!
