Man, what an ugly PSA 10

Ugly PSA 10

I am fully aware that even PSA isn't perfect, but how does something like this receive the top grade? That diamond cut is just hideous. Any ideas?

Looks like it might just be slanted a little in the case and a bad scan.

Raw: Tony Gonzalez (low #'d cards, and especially 1/1's) and Steve Young.

I have been through a lot of raw 84 OPC, and there are TONS of diamond cut cards. TONS! I did not look at the auction in question here, so I can't comment on that Fernando, but....

First glance appears trimmed at the top left of the card - but who would trim this card to get a higher grade?

I kinda doubt that that card is in high demand anyway - but still........................................................

If you put your cursor over the link above you get a web address to appear at the bottom of your screen (which shows that its a Fernando Valenzuela card).

Edited to add: I try to remember to always do that before I click on a link so I have a pretty good idea of where it's taking me.
