How does this flaw affect a grade?
Let's say you have a card. Let's say it is a more modern card that has a glossy type finish. There is no crease or wrinkle on the surface at all. However, when the card is shown in the right light, there is sort of a bend. Maybe bend is too hard of a word. It is kind of a wave. Maybe it actually IS a bend but the surface is not wrinkled at all. Let's say the card is perfect in every other way. How does that affect the grade?

It took me a second, but I see what you are asking. I would call that a "curl". What I am talking about is just one one spot. It would all be in the space about the size of a silver dollar, in this instance.

Personally, I don't think it should affect the grade, but then again..........
You never really know until you know.
(OK, enough of the Yogiisms
Anyway, I've had some cards that had a bend like you describe. I've actually been fairly successful at carefully and gingerly bending the cards in the opposite direction of the bend, thereby getting rid of it. You just have to be very careful and have a light touch so you don't end up bending the card the opposite direction, or even worse, putting a crease in it or damaging a corner.

Best I got.
