People can fret and fuss over their '58 Mantles or whatever for as long as they want, but it has always seemed to me that the world of sports cards is at its finest whenever there are young players tearing up the league during the same year that their RCs are issued. Before all the Strasburg hoopla I think you have to go back to 2001, when Pujols and Ichiro were lighting it up, to find a year in the hobby that compares in excitement to this year.
