Does anyone think that the Stack's site should have a "confirm bid" screen when bidding?

Don't tell RYK, but seconds ago I took a flier and placed a bid on a coin at Stack's. As we know, the new website is now active. I was shocked that when I placed my bid, there was no "confirm your bid" screen/button and my bid was immediately accepted. Even on Ebay you are given the chance to review your bid and confirm it is correct. What if I typed 5 figures instead of 4? Is this common?

I think Stack's should have a "confirm bid" screeen if it's something they want to have. If bidders have an issue with the way it's set up, contacting Stacks and telling them about it would probably be the way to go, unless you think they regularly cruise message boards looking for ways to improve (where "improve" = them doing things the way you think they should) their business. image

What if you typed 5 figures instead of 4, got a "confirm bid" screen, and misread your 5 figure bid as a 4 figure one?

Yes, they should. Lack of usability testing (and testing in general) is unfortunately pretty common for new websites. It costs $$$ to hire proper testers.

Don't you have a secretary or two to look at the screen and confirm everything for you?

It'd be nice, but the lack of one doesn't really bother me.

There should be one, but it does not involve me, since Stack's auction has nothing of interest to me.

LA, you are not showing the proper deference.

When dealing with royalty, you should be eternally grateful that the serfs are even allowed to approach the castle and call out their bids.

In other kingdoms such effrontery would normally result in a shower of molten lead.

The very idea that the chattel should be granted confirmations strikes me as a violent breach of protocol and would surely invite the derision of all fellow sovereigns.

Someone needs to send this fellow back to the dungeon for some more back stretching.

I REALLY like the revised Stacks site, especially the action viewing section. Very easy to navigate and very EASY on the eyes. It is much better than the aborted version rolled out a year ago.

I would imagine having a "confirmation" added feature shouldn't be too difficult to add?

The old site should have had a self destruct button....The new site is soooo improved. Yes, there should be a confirm button. MJ

Why should they have a bid confirmed button? Their numbers never mean anything! Has anyone bid with these guys only to have the so called reserves change?

Same old Stacks, the web site is just a different dressing.
