An authentic genuine 1909-S VDB (as damaged, or whatever) if it was also stamped, COPY?

    aaaaaaaaaaaaaaah, don't think so...

Do you think Ford would have put their name on the Edsel if they knew it was going
to be a dog? PCGS does not need to do that!

PCGS will holder counterstamped large cents and other coins with some engravings- all CODE 98, of course, so I don't see why not my scenario.

You might have to gouge out the stamp "Copy" so it is illegible first.

PCGS has the right to not holder anything with too much damage. Genuine or not, this would look like such an egregious error that I am confident they would never holder a coin that said "Copy"
