I know it is early, but are a lot of people here planning on going to the ANA in Boston?
I know it is really early to ask, but because your very own Longacre is a sniveling wimp, he needs to work over Mrs. L. for a few months in order to be allowed to go to a coin show. I checked my calendar, and although I may be in India at some point around the time of the ANA in Boston, I might be able to work it into my schedule. I already greased the skids a little bit by agreeing that Mrs. L can spend a month in Hawaii on a well-deserved vacation, so I hope she will agree to having me spend a day (maybe two??) in Boston.
Are a lot of people on these boards going to the ANA Boston show? I tend to view the shows as a social hour(s), so the more the merrier. Any thoughts?

Fellas, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pockets you better use them to call a tailor. Stay thirsty my friends......

<< <i>I plan on being there for a couple days, but holy crap are hotels ever expensive. Maybe I'll fly in to Manchester, get a car, stay at a cheap place in the greater Lowell area, and take the train in to the show. >>
Thats not such a good idea. Lowell is crack city usa from what I've heard. Be careful in that city at night.

The 1600 aisle is like a mini Numismatic Americana murderer's row: Steve Hayden, Mike Wierzba, David Fanning/George Kolbe, Henry Garrett, and I are all within watermelon seed spitting distance. Stuck in the middle: David Hall Rare Coins!
Van fits right in though. Don't tell him I told you, but he's a closet Americana fan himself!

PS: If you ever see two seats at my table, you're confused. One seat is permanently reserved for RWB to tell death-defying stories of dusty archives, salty librarians, and moldy manuscripts. Looking forward to seeing you there, Roger!

Hitting Bean town on the Thursday early train. But I think it's really "moldy librarians and salty manuscripts." Maybe I'll reveal how many 1933 DE exist or how many 1929 DE or 21s.....

I have a hotel room reserved at only $265/ night. This is a good time to find a room because they don't seem to be getting any cheaper.

<< <i>Most likely I will be there from Tuesday until Saturday. I will be sharing a table with another dealer but it is uncertain whether or not I will have any of my coins on display.

Priceline is your friend only if your plans are set in stone and you don't care where you'll be staying. I am familiar with the area around the convention center and there are many hotels in that area I would prefer to avoid if possible. Some of the ANA host hotels are no exception.
I've stayed at that Sheraton many times before and I would prefer to stay somewhere else if at all possible.

When I tried priceline, the deals were not very good. What amazed me was the gap in the back bay area from 3.5 star hotels to 2 star (going by memory), there wasnt much middle ground in the area.
