He would've been amazing playing with todays rules. He was amazing anyway, but his opponents tied him up so bad in the playoffs. They just shut him down.

Those 90 upper decks bring back memories. Did anyone buy any french upper deck? I remember buying some for $15 a pack. I think the Fedorov peaked at, $300?

That young guns series was really hot.

Yeah, I bought a lot of that stuff, plus the OPC Premier
Packs of the Premier were $10. Now you can get an unopened case for that.

I ripped and put together a complete set of bi-lingual UD when they were new. It's my favorite set for modern hockey.

The Pat Falloon is one my favorite cards of all time. I just like the card, I'm not a fan of his.

I watched him play in Spokane too. He was the best skater I ever saw. He can stop on a dime and be full speed in about 3 strides.

I actually had bought the French Set, just the low series though, when I was up in Toronto back in 91 for $60 or so. Brought it back to Michigan and sold it for $100.

Candice Cameron. And she wasn't on Growing Pains, she was on Full House. Her brother Kirk was on Growing Pains.

I was 12 in 1990, I remember thinking how cool and exotic hockey players were at the time. Compared to american, run of the mill baseball players. White guys from the midwest basically.

And here's all these foreign hockey players. And hockey was just starting to emerge at the time. The Gretzky #1 hockey beckett came out in, the fall of 1990?

I remember the rookie class, sundin, modano, beflour, nedved, mike ricci, owen nolan! Mogilny. A gigantic rookie class. And all these guys were going to be the next lindros. That was a pivotal year in modern hockey cards.

My interest in modern hockey started to go down in 92/93, when a lot of the rookies didnt pan out. I wonder if other kids followed a similar pattern.

OPC premier boxes have kept their value pretty well for a modern box. My favorites cards from 1990 upperdeck are probably the federov, belfour, lemieux, roenick.

I think UD only reprinted the french series but it killed the values...

That is a great batch! I buy the french Fedorov card pretty often. I have 12 or 13 of them now. That was the card (just before the Bure frenzy) that I drooled over as a child, ore than any other.

As someone else pointed out, 1990-91 Upper Deck (french especially) is my all-time favorite hockey set and in my top-10 all-time sports card sets.

FYI: If you look at the holograms on back, they are either the 1990-91 NHL type (90-91 and crossed hockey stick pattern inside the hologram) or the 1991 MLB type. I believe the 1991 MLB holograms were the reprinted cards and the first printing of french high series all had the 1990-91 NHL holograms on back.

Bure. One of the most exciting sports stars anywhere and of all time. For this generation, he was the Barry Sanders of hockey. He could fly -- or should I say FLY. Some of the moves -- between the legs breakaway goal -- are still being copied today.

Brought down by gimpy knees -- not a doctor but the torque from his playing style couldn't have been good.

He could've gone down as one of the greatest.
Collecting HOF RC's in hockey, baseball, football and basketball. A fool's errand some have said.
