Seven year itch: winner!

Joined the CU seven years ago, to this day.
I believe a small giveaway is in order. Just post to enter until Sunday 5/22/2010 at midnight, and the winner will be announced a couple of days later.
The prize is a colorful British Maundy 1916 3d. It comes with a shroom pedigree and will be delivered in a direct fit plastic capsule.

I was worried your 'itch' was going to be to change to collecting guitars or something (does anyone hear from Cosmic anymore?)...and you were going to divorce us. 7 year itch indeed

The title was mostly to keep it in the family.
For the most part of these 7 years, I was paying at least a daily visit to the Darkside , just like others do now with their Facebook pages which I refuse to join. It hasn't only been a pleasure to be here, but it has been extremely influential in keeping a level of ethics, rarely found elsewhere. The deals that are done by Darksiders are guaranteed for their honesty and are a model for others. It's easy to overlook that part. You have no idea how many newbies I've seen turning into little con artists themselves, just because everybody else is doing it. Well, not here at the Darkside.
Another big effect the Darkside had on me, was on purely numismatic goals and changes for the better. Indeed as Laurent says in his lovely poem, I believe I've changed a lot both as a person and as a collector since I've joined. The only times I've stayed away, was when I was taking voluntary time outs from the hobby, or when there wasn't a connection around. And Cathy, I might have outposted you, but in terms of quality and quantity such as in the Urugay pattern thread lately, I just give up.
I have met lots of you, and if it wasn't for the recession and the recent crisis, I would have probably met more or seen the ones I already know more times. But I'm always looking for a bright optimistic future and I hope I'll keep enjoying reading your posts and watching the normal rotation of members that time brings.

You're right, Dimitri, about this being a special group with some good honest members. It's a pleasure to just stop by and see what's going on with everyone.
Congrats on your seven year anniversary, hope I can make it that long myself.
Hope this finds you well...

Congratulations on the seven years, Dimitri! And don't be too hard on Facebook -- I was reluctantly dragged into it and now find it a useful tool. I even use it at work.

I'm glad I got to meet you in person at least once, and here's hoping times will improve for all of us in the future.
