Ever lost a card?
I was looking at my Bird/magic RC card. It was a raw one, then I went home, looked in my bag, and it was gone!!! The library closed, so I had to wait till the next morning, and I couldn't sleep. Went back the next morning and asked. The lady said it wasn't in the lost and found box. So I asked the lady that maybe one of the other workers took it home. And she said, "They wouldn't do that." (Yah, right!). Someone out there got my card.
Thanks for your help everyone.

<< <i>Mullins5, how much was it worth then, and how much today? >>
I bought it around 2004-5 and it was $450-485 (can't remember exactly what I paid)
Not sure what it is going for now, but I think it is in the $300 range.

That sucks. I have to admit though, as time passes by, the sting wears off a little more.

I can relate. My brother didn't actual steal my cards, but he conned me into thinking a lot of my cards were junk, which influenced me, a young gullible kid, to give it to him. Not actual stealing, but something like it.

I did misplace about 60 Donruss Griffey rookie cards for about 3 years. This was back when they were actually selling at decent prices.

<< <i>I haven't lost any but did have quite a few stolen a few years ago. I know who did it but can't prove it. Stolen was an 86 and an 87 Fleer basketball sets, a 70 baseball set minus all the key cards (the set was in a binder but the key cards were in toploaders in a different box) and a handfull of misc 60s and 70s cards.

I have the urge to ask who you think did it and where did you misplace the griff rookie cards, but I won't since it might be too personal. That sucks. The one good thing about this is that it can make one protect his cards a lot better.

I usually bring my library books to the card shows.
Luckily I had insurance at that time which took care of the monetary loss however at that time I could never find a Mays as nice as the one I had.
My nun at Catholic School in the 5th grade took a stack of 1960 topps I had bought to school to trade with my friend we were caught during class and she took them away from us and at the end of the school year when we asked her to give them back she said she threw them away.WHAT AN OLD BAG!!!!!!!
From what I can remember I left it in my lift the hood desk top while we went to a recess, I come back and it's gone!!!!! HoLY mAcKeraL I couldnt believe...
After much detective work we found out a fellow girl classmate had taken it, I was so pissed I could not describe it in words, I think I was shaking, the only time in my life where I ever thought about hitting a girl, the worst part was I think she deminted the card a little.
My dad took me to the hobby shop later that week and they gave me $50 in trade value, so I took a 1978 Eddie Murray RC, SWEET!
True story, sweet victory!

Why would you have a basketball card at the library?
Would have been sad if I threw it away not knowing.
Close call

I bring it in the library, because the car gets like an oven when it's sunny.

My ex-wife's step brother stole the cards. He buys and sells cards on Ebay. He and his dad were doing some work on my house and knew where we hid the key. I don't know how long the cards were missing before I noticed it. The Griffey rookies got misplaced when I moved. I thought they got mixed up in the 400,000 plus cards I donated to the Shriner's Hospital and local Children's Hospital. I found them a few yerars later while going through some boxes in my card closet.
