Is this typical behavior for those prospector guys?

Sold 2 Strasburg refractors over the weekend for a $49.99 BIN each. Neither have paid yet. Not worried about it yet cause it's only Monday but...

I was looking at what these 2 buyers(who are also sellers) have for sale and I see my card for sale in 1 of them (same serial#) and the other guy has 2 for sale but no serial #s(but sharing the same stock pictures)

I'd hate to be the buyer of their cards if they pay right away cause it appears they'll have to get it from me before they can ship it their customers.

I could care less if they want to flip it for a profit but at least 1 of them, if not both are selling stuff they don't even have LOL

So basically my kid won't be able to go to college, but at least I'll have a set where the three most expensive cards are of a player I despise ~ CDsNuts

Buyers can't get negative feedback so I guess they'll pay you when they get a higher offer than what they agreed to pay and can't get slammed for being a terrible buyer or non-buyer. They can't lose that way.

    One I can't prove - just suspecting

The other one, it would only be me who can prove it and I still want my money for it and without a negative image

My auctions state payment due within 4 days so on day 4, claims will be put in.

as the drum beats louder for Strasburg to get promoted to the show, there will likely be quite a bit of hocus-pocus going on as people attempt to cash in on his popularity.

  • I've had a few 2010 Bowman non payment issues. Next time I'll require immediate payment on time sensitive sets like this.

Bored so I asked the seller for a pic of the back of the refractor.

Let me know if he responds. I posted a similar question over at FCB. Lot's of prospectors over there and I'm wondering how often that happens with the latest, greatest product.

  • I think many short sell.

LOL wonder if I struck a nerve. I just got paid image
  • Cool. In 2-3 days I bet I get that back pic. Thinks he has a fish on the line.

If someone hits his BIN, take a week to ship....lol

Just got a message from him asking if I could send a pic of the back before mailing LMAO

I would do it except I brought both cards to work with me this morning already packaged in case I got paid, I could have printed the label there and mailed it out today.

I just told him that too. And it is true LOL

I could open it tomorrow morning and send him a cell phone pic I guess. If he replies, I'll offer that and let you know.

Maybe I should just offer to send the pic direct to you image

The correct answer is to have zep send 1989 the back photo, and then 1989 can email the seller, and say, "Never mind, I got from the guy you bought it from yesterday. No worries. I've attached it for you if you need it."

  • lol.

No need to open the package to take a pic. Dont. I just asked again as he lowered the price by $20 and now I'm REALLY interested but just need this small thing from him.

<< <i>No need to open the package to take a pic. Think I'll email again acting antsy. This imaginary moneys burning a hole in my pocket. >>

I'd tell the guy that you are going to buy that card tonight and you would prefer to buy his card (Buy it now), but you need to see the back of the card. Tell him that in 2 hours you will be pulling the trigger, because you may not have Internet access tomorrow! Let's see how fast he emails Zep! LMFAO.

  • you guys are awesome lol.
  • His reply to my 2nd inquiry- I will send one soon. The refractor is pack fresh
and it is not perfectly centered, as u will c in the
    pick

    My possible responses...

pack fresh, how do you know the guy who owned it before you didn't use it to pick food out of his teeth?

    Is soon 2-3 days?

I'll give you 2 days then I'm moving on. (as he eagerly anticipates his mail)

Ok, Sounds good. Can I pay with $ I dont yet have?

I have a story somewhat similar. A guy on a forum "sells" me a $1,300 card saying he doesnt actually have posession yet, but guarantees it will be in MY hands within 2 weeks. I agree, and we decide no payment is to be made until he has the card in hand. I find out a few hours later that the card he "sold" me was actually in a Heritage auction lot that wasnt even ending for another 20 days! The way the seller made it sound was that he had a deal in place for the card already, and we just had to wait a couple weeks for delivery and whatnot. He never confided that there was a very real possibility that he might not ever own the card....yet he guaranteed that it would be mine in 2 weeks time if I commited my cash to it!

I had already offered to do that to keep things rolling.

He replied last night that it wasn't necessary.

Got another message when I woke up asking me to go ahead and take a pic even if it delays the shipping. I'm not going to refuse to do it since I had already offered and I don't need to land a neg out of this. He did pay me within a couple days even though it did take a little nudging to make it happen image

  • Cool. Just in case, from here on out I'll cease any future communication with him. Hate for him to have buyers remorse and want a refund if the lot goes unsold or leave a neg. It was fun while it lasted. Glad no one was hurt during the production of this learning experience.

I sent him the scan a few minutes ago.

You should be getting yours shortly image

Yeah, I don't wanna mess with him anymore, he paid and now he's free to do whatever he wants with the card.
