Hey guys, there's a thread in the US forum where we are trying to put together in order from A to Z a list (with pictures) of coins using either the designer's last name OR the mint mark of a place. Given some of the difficult letters it is OK to use darkside and ancient coins too (including if necessary the INFERRED mint area if there is no mintmark... as per some of the ancients). The coins do not need to be yours, you can grab an image from the web if necessary.

For example for A) Ahr, for B) Barber, for C) Charlotte, for D) Dahlonega etc. etc.

Right now the letter I would be helpful.

  • I just posted a 1917 Aussie Penny, minted in India ("I" mintmark). I have one, but it was quicker to grab this pic off the internet.image

I had my Nueva Guatemala coin ready to go, but just as I was about to post it, Stubby pipped me to the post with his N mintmark French. image

Oh well, no point in letting a perfectly good pic go to waste. image

  • If an American thread is trying to be maintained you could use darkside coins minted at U.S. mints that had foreign designers as well.
