    This is one of those coins that the old Anacs photo certificate independent obverse and reverse grading really makes sense. They graded this coin MS65/63.

    I think the reverse limits this to a 64.

    I think it has a good shot at a 5. Looks like a 6 obv and 4 rev. If it was the other way around, then it would be 4.

    63. 1881-S comes very nice and is very, very common in high grade. There is no reason to be generous with this date.

    Thanks for the replies, this is one of those coins that has a ton of eye appeal, but at 64 is just not worth the cost of submitting. Hint for the vam, check out the eagle's wing.

    Hard to judge the reverse image but the obverse is good enough that it has to be at least a shot 65 as the obverse is a lock and they might forgive some of the reverse issues depending on what it looks like in hand image
