wow, nice. That's some serious coin right there. The 21-D is my favorite.
Too many positive BST transactions with too many members to list.
I'll have to check if I saved the images
<< <i>The 21-D was actually on EBay early this year in an NGC AU58 holder listed for just under $4K BIN.

You maybe right. I remember somebody e-mailing me a link....... I don't do Ebay and I don't remember the exact price but the coin does look familar. I didn't save the pic, I checked
Walkerguy21d is a knowledgable guy to turn to for this series, especially early date Walkers. It's so important to have someone preview coins like this in person for you at auction. Gotta love key date Walkers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The 21D looks QUITE nice. Enjoy these coins. MJ
Fellas, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pockets you better use them to call a tailor. Stay thirsty my friends......

21-D is awesome. An inspring coin dripping with character. Love the grade, color - the whole thing. Superb! 38-d is also really nice.
Best and congrats,
Eric
Edited for spelling.
Great looking group of Walkers.
Mike
That 21D is nice

Thanks. Though I did not see these in person, John PM'd me extensively on these coins before and during the auction. That 21D is a world class coin all the way. I dropped out of the bidding on the 38D posted and gave John a heads-up to go for it if he wanted it, which he did.

Walkerguy has either sourced or reviewed almost my whole set and can speak to the fact this matches my set pretty well...
I would have never purchased the 38-d had he not brought it to my attention. The 19-s was a switch- I had an NGC AU53 but I hated it so I sold it and purchased this one- My 19, 19-d, and 19-s are all AU53 CAC.
One day I hope to get the whole set imaged and crossed to PCGS for registry...
This set has been a labor of love and it drawing close to an end- Just looking for the 21-s that matches my 21-d and 21 and then I can close this chapter and start the next one.
Thank you
John
I have also seen the coin in an NGC holder in the past but I can't recall whether it was in inventory or on ebay or how recently, but that coin deserves the PCGS holder it is in for sure.
Commems and Early Type
John,
As you know, I too was more than interested in the 21-D.
It was difficult to see my max bid - which was the high bid
for a week or so - get stompped on. My next bid to bump
the new bidder [ you ] only increased your bid. And again,
and again. I consoled myself with another coin...
I don't think you'll ever tired of looking at that 21-D !!
The 19-S in 53 w/CAC - looks nicer than a 53. I like it too !!
The 38-D is also a very nice coin.
Your set must look great. Show us more !!

I have never tracked a coin, got as excited about a coin, or been as nervous about a coin as I was about this one...
That 21-D was a coin that Walkerguy and I spoke about a lot- From the moment I saw it and I told him as soon as I saw it would be 10k... However, there really was not a point that I was stopping out on that one... It matches the grade of my 21 (PCGS AU58) but the color on that coin is as beautiful in hand as it is in the pictures.
The color is a little darker in hand and the coin overall is darker in hand but nowhere is the toning so dark that it is not attractive.
Here are some larger images- It is an AU58 and you can see the rub on the hand and the skirt line... The reverse may have the slightest rub; The fields are clear. Thank you all for the kudos and I am glad you guys like this coin as much as I do.

Coins one can dream of. Very Nice!!
Ron
Excellent head detail, almost a fully split branch, and very very clean right field.
Detail on the eagle is superb as well. On top of all these attributes, the toning is TDF.
You should be very proud to have this piece.
