1993 Topps Micro?

I know it must be Jeter driven but is it the prism version?

    Its a combination of things.

I think it is because the set is semi rare, not to mention it is 12 sets. Also because BBCE (Steve Hart) is selling them so you know they are legitimate. Then there is the Jeter factor since he is closing in on 3000 hits. Lastly the prism cards.

Are there known cases of "illegitimate" 1993 Topps Micro cards?

I have seen sets that have been resealed and pawned off as "factory sealed"

Weird. I come across these and the 1991 sets fairly often at thrift stores and I've never bothered with them, thinking there wasn't much demand for the Jeter. Plus, aren't all the prism cards the same exact 12 players in every set?

Yeah there's only 12 prism cards and it's the same subset in every set, not a parallel. At one point Micro singles in PSA were great for player collectors but now they're pretty easy to find since the pops blew up. I went through a lot of these a few years back and did pretty well with them, but it probably wasn't worth the carpal tunnel and neck kinks I got as a result of trying to flip through them.

Jeter is usually OC. In 91, Chipper is usually OC, has a PD or both. $10+ a set is pretty high, you can usually get them for $3-$5 ea.

Thats what I was thinking Lee, I think you could buy the Jeter already graded for what those are bringing.

The Jeter PSA 10 is only pop 4. The 2 PSA 10s I have ever seen sold for a pretty penny...

10's are crapshoots, a 9 sells for what 10 to 15 bucks? Paying alot of money for 10s doesn't seem like a good idea when dealers are dumping them 12 sets at a time. I think lack of interest was the only thing keeping the pops low. I would assume people are sitting on hundreds of thousands of these sets.

I have seen Jeter 9's get upwards of $50...

these cards (the jeters) also tend to be out of focus...

chippers can never be found centered...
