My first photo, Nothing spectacular

Ok, my first attempt to photograph a coin. I just did it quick to see how it'd turn out.

Nice! In a year you'll look back and cringe. But I think you're off to a nice start.

    Sweet coin!

    what is your setup
    ie
    lights
    camera
    lens

it looks like you need another light??
    LCoopie = Les
  • Yes, I need a second light. I'm trying 2 different cameras but think neither are good at really close shots. They can't focus any closer than that shot. one is a point and shoot Traveler DC 9900, the other a JVC GR-D870U video camera used to take still shots.

i also need to figure out their white settings

You're already better than 90% of the eBay sellers out there....
Positive BST transactions with: too many names to list! 36 at last count.

    Practice makes perfect.

Your first shot looks better than many's one hundredth shot.

Best advice is use a steady support and self timed shutter release if possible.
    Many happy BST transactions

    There you go.

It is fun getting started with coin images.

    I'll second what cheezhed said,

Pretty good photo for a first time. A lot better than I could manage with a camera...image

  • I have a tripod. and that was the best of the first 10 or so i took. Like i said, i need to work on the white balance, since my lincoln photo's were very red. I'll post a pic of one of those.

Here it is. The background was white lol.
