2010 Red Book mintage figure typo? Help needed.

fivecentsfivecents Posts: 11,207 ✭✭✭✭✭
The redbook just jacked the mintage of the 1999-P Yellowstone uncirculated dollar from around 23,000 to 82,000. imageimageimage

I REALLY need to know the true mintage figures.

Thanks.

No known list of mintages except the Redbook. Even the Mint Website does not post this information, only limits for current coins. What coin in particular are you concerned about?

Sure it's not a typo, one of the member's here I believe helps with the proof reading. Maybe he'll chime in. Also I would try to contact publisher and confirm current number. Let us know what you find out.

    06 lists 62000
    07 lists 23614

    ???

Glad you asked, I hadn't noticed the discrepancies. Must've been a geyser at the mint after 07...

The geyser must have been spewing 1999-P Yellowstone dollars. It spewed at least 60,000 of them between 2007 and 2010.imageimageimage

I made a note in my markup copy to recheck it, but the fact that it has been changed recently probably means that they did check it and corrected it.
