.....CAC on an OGH MS67.....I gotta think that a lot of 68 dreamers out there are droolin'! image

Of course, if it could make 68 somebody would have done it by now....but you never know. Still, what a screamer! If you're gonna own the most common Buff, this is the way to do it. No, I'm not tryin' to shamelessly plug for our friend Mr. D, I just appreciate this piece like I appreciate all "common" coins with exceptional qualities.

This is one of the beauties of this hobby. I look at this coin and think it is "nice", but that's about all while you look at it and nearly have a stroke. The luster is good and the color is okay, but by no means exotic or otherwise exceptional. It is also about as common as a coin can be in this series.

it's all about the date. if it were any other date in the series would it change your impression of the coin?? for me it's all about the coin and though the date is common it sure looks nice. stable, too, since it's been in the holder for about 20 years.

Can't tell squat looking at those angled slab shots.

Secondly if this was a spectacular example greattoning would have large close-ups of the obverse and reverse by themselves.

  • The CAC sticker just means it's 'solid' for the grade... it's hard to tell from the photo, but it looks pretty typical of a '38 D in 67.

Broadstruck - yeah, you're right about that.... image

SeattleSlammer - So I take it this is yours and it's for sale? (you know all of us Buffalo hunters out there are sharpening our spears).

I wonder if the consigner of that Buffalo is a member of this forum?

Thanks as those angle shots are done to make any color that's possibly image-able pop.

I bet that head on you'd be searching high and low to find all that color.

Not my coin. I just liked its look.
An angled slab shot like that is often best to show luster and color at the same time......my guess is that it looks very nice head on, too.
