C-N clad Ike $1 pops rise

Some of the MS66 C-N Ike $1 populations rose as a result of yesterday's grading session.

1972-D, 1973, 1974, 1977-D, 1978, & 1978-D pops all increased which leads to the questions:

Was this a bulk submission requesting minimum grade = MS66? Were the 72-D, 73-P, & 74-P regrades or crossovers? Interesting.

Kudos to the successful submittor(s).

    Additional details? How many coins are we talking about? 5, 10, 20, 50?

    I once submitted 12 IKEs for grading, four of which were 72D and three of the four were graded MS66. The fourth was graded MS65. The other coins were not as impressive in the lot, but nonetheless, the 72Ds in 66 were something to write home about I thought, especially, since they were never put in mint sets.

    Looks like:

    1971-D = +9

    1972-D = +10

    1973 = +2

    1973-D = +1

    1974 = +4

    1974-D = +4

    1976-D T1 = +5

    1976-D T2 = +1

    1977 = +1

    1977-D = +17

    1978-D = +52

    I have no idea whether or not this was a bulk submission but it is certainly possible.

    BTW, some of those are significant numbers and 1977 and 1978 bags appear to be popping up all over the place.
    I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

    Well drat.

    Now the mint set 77-D and '78-D will have to go MS-67 to get much of a premium.

    Not me, but those are hardly big numbers.

    I'd bet Morgans increased during the same time period by a factor of 10x

    Go find a MS66 Ike....raw....bet you have a hard time finding one, much less a 67

    Of course --

    Perhaps there were quite a few bank failures last year (in Nevada and ?) where they actually overordered them for the Casinos ?

    So some smartguys decide to grade a bunch.

    But who would do a thing like that!

    Not me -- I'm a small time newbie Ike collector.

    I LIKE IKES.
