Liquidity of some Registry Coins

Do you think the average dealer is interested in top population coins such as Jefferson nickels, Roosevelt dimes, Washington quarters after 1940, Franklin halves, Kennedy halves or Memorial Lincolns? More specifically, if people were not trying to build registry sets for these coins do you think any dealers would be interested in them?

    short answer: No.
    When in doubt, don't.

    Nope.
    Best to ebay/TT those.
Modern top registry coins don't get much play trying to be sold to the average dealer.

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

Really depends on what the dealer is interested in. I would gladly buy post-1940 Washington Quarters for very strong money (and have routinely). I am less interested in Memorial cents these days. Another dealer might be just the opposite. The "average" dealer might not care about moderns at all (or specialize in them). Likewise, I have customers that refuse to buy just about anything these days other than a modern coin (mainly low mintage gold/platinum). Other collectors I know wouldn't think about buying moderns. That's what makes it fun!!

My first response was No but after reading Mitch's post I realized that, being a registry participant, I usually only solicit coin dealers that deal in Modern's and most of them are on eBay.

However, it is a very limited audience.
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.
