Is this a Jefferson double D ?

imageimageimage I opened a 1953 D Jefferson BU nickel roll and found several of these. Also found a few with what I think are shelf doubling on the reverse legend. Is this common or a rarity?

I say strike doubling on the MM- that's what I see on the lettering as well.

Everything looks like machine doubling. If the "doubling" on the mintmark is
in the same direction as the "doubling" on the other lettering, then I would say
that it is definitely machine doubling.

Thanks for your answers. The doubling on the letters is on a different coin. image

Well, since there are no known RPM's for the 1953-D, if you want to pull the trigger and find out for sure since PCGS doesn't designate and the huddled masses are divided... either send them on a trip to Colorado or on a trip to the CONECA Gods.

    I think I see notching...

    Whatever you decide... Good Luck.
