1996, 1997, 1998 Bermuda $3 proofs. Newp

So I picked my first one of these up from airplanenuts charity auction ( a 1997). Really liked it, did a little research here and on Ebay, and was able to pic up a 1998 w/ papers, and a 1996 from the same seller, which coincidentally was listed as a 1997, but only showed the reverse pic and since I happened to have one handy I was able to tell it was not a 97, and certainly wasn't a 98, but in fact a 96. So, thanks to LordMarcovan providing me with my first non-US coins (from his $10 lottery), I decided to build my first set (mini-set?). I will put pictures up as soon as I get them in but it feels good to put together a complete set (even if it is only three coins long).

    Got my package in with what I hoped were the 1996 and 1998 $3 Bermuda proofs, all ready to take photos (because these threads are worthless w/o photos). Opened the package and checked the and the seller sent me 2 1975 $25 Bermuda proofs. Definitely not what I ordered. So in the mean time this will continue to be a meaningless post (although I will post a pic of the 1997 proof I won in airplanenuts charity auction).

    I've always thought those "Bermuda triangles" were cool, but never have seen any in person. I like the toning on the latter two. Those are great!

    Weren't there gold triangles, too? I like the oddness of not only the shape, but the $3 denomination as well. These are cool on many different levels.

    Yeah, Cladiator is hoarding those '64 crowns, I think.

    Who's got one of those gold triangles?

    (Edit to add a second thought- I wonder how odd one of these triangular coins would look in TPG plastic, particularly the NGC "prong" holders. Weird, I'll bet.)

    Canada also has triangular coins.

    Cladiator was hoarding '59 Crowns I believe.

    You're right. It's my uncle who's hoarding the '64 crowns. He bought like 800 of 'em in a single lot. Less than melt at the time, and bullion's gone way up since. He's sittin' pretty, my uncle is.

    They do have gold triangles and from what I can gather they are a part of this set below.

    If you have a Krause catalog 1901 to 2000 check out the Kiribati $200 KM#32.

    I eventually want one once my wallet can support it.

    They do have gold triangles and from what I can gather they are a part of this set below.

    The gold were also issued as singles without the silver. I was interested in them but never ran into them with a nominal premium. image
