NF String & Son wrapper?

With regard to buying a roll of uncirculated coins, what is the significance, if any, of an NF String & Son roll?

It's not the "mint's special wrapper"

It's a legitimate original bank wrapper and so are the coins inside it as long as there is no evidence of ever being unwrapped - If that was your question. They've been around at least since the '70s, I think.

    Thank you for the replies.
Jimski, NF String is often noted in coin roll listings as though it is somehow a "premier" wrapping service. I wondered if there were a different "chain-of-custody" involved in which the mint shipped directly to them in some "special" way?

Yes these are the good ones, all the ones that I have bought have been unsearched for sure. Good luck.
  • They do bring a premium. For instance all the '09 P nickels and dimes did not have String wrappers, they were wrapped in Puerto Rico. Last month a seller got '09 P nickels in String wrapped rolls, those rolls instantly doubled.
