  • I've noticed the 2008-w $10 1/4 oz burnished gold eagles have been marching higher.
The NGC MS70s are at $1200.
    Raw coins are at $1000

I wonder if someone is hoarding???

What a trend! And what a gap between the greysheet and a few weeks of time on Gold's side.

I watched the pricing tick up this week on BST and ebay wondering if there is some relationship to new buyers, or........was it
The "2008-W Gold Buff Bump". as all things Gold related to The Great Year of the Mint keep on rising.

I wondered if I had ordered a set in 2008 and happily discovered I stowed a Sealed Set away as my memory improved and the SDB revealed a gift.

Edited to add an AGE 2008 Set for Mo Money!

I was fortunate enough to have ordered 5 $10 2008-W AGEs. I no longer own them, and let's just say they performed a little better than my mutual funds.

It is more likely the low mintage of 8,883 that is driving the higher prices. These 2008-W AGE $10 1/4 oz listings are really starting to thin out on ebay.

I believe that more than one or two people are now looking at the mintages involved and comparing them to previous years' mintages. A strong gold market isn't hurting the scarce dates either.
