THANK YOU, VCP. PROBLEM SOLVED!

The keyword search function for some multi-player cards is....................NOW FIXED. PROPS!
For example, do a search for the 1961 Topps American League Home Run Leaders Card # 44:
1) Search 1: "1961 Topps AL Home Run Leaders", yields "no search results were found"
2) Search 2: "1961 Topps Mantle" (Mantle is on the card), yields the same - nothing.
3) Search 3: "1961 Topps Maris", yields the same - nothing.
4) Search 4: "1961 Topps Lemon", yields the same - nothing.
5) Search 5: "1961 Topps Colavito" - the last player on the card - produces the pricing info on the card.
6) Search 6: "1961 Topps 1960 American League Home Run Leaders" - nothing.
Example # 2: 1960 Topps Rival All Stars, Mantle & Boyer -
1) Search 1: 1960 Topps Mantle - nothing.
2) Search 2: 1960 Topps Boyer - hit.
3) Search 3: 1960 Topps Rival All Stars - nothing
4) Search 4: 1960 Topps Mantle & Boyer - hit.
WTF? This happens all the time with multi-player cards. You can find it under some players, but not others. Want the most comical example? Do a keyword search for Nolan Ryan's rookie card. "1968 Topps Mets Rookie Stars" yields zip, "1968 Topps Ryan" or "1968 Topps Nolan Ryan" yields only the Topps Milton Bradley version. Only "1968 Topps Koosman" will get you there. If you want to really laugh, type in "1968 Topps Mets 1968 Rookie Stars" - the exact heading on the Ryan rookie - and see what you get.
This has been this way for 2 or 3 years now. It's amateurish and wastes our time. FIX IT.

only if they are slabbed:
If you put in 1961 44 it should pop up.
And try pulling up a multi-player card that has more than one variation (ie, 1969 Topps white/yellow letter).
You can't pull those by name OR by number, unless you happen to know how VCP specifically abbreviates the variation.
Anyone here know how to find the VCP on 1973 Topps #116 Yankees managers orange background?

I agree with this quote.. Why don't we seen anything on VCP's message board about this.. I hate when people just like to b1tch about things because it makes them feel bigger then everyone else.
Have you sent this to Bobby? or just posted it here?
I am with the rest of them, just use the card number and the year..

Next time someone complains about Ebay, I'll wait to see the posts telling the OP to take it to the Ebay message board.
*shrug* if you can use the numbers, the names are just as standard and why the inconsistency that one name works and not the other?
PS. Mullins - no worries on the shots.......

Posting here allows other collectors to add their two cents (like I did), and Bobby can perhaps solve different problems by reading one thread

Easy there. If it's card-related, it's fair game for this discussion board. No one is trying to feel super important by pointing out a glitch @ VCP.

Which is fine, most of the time. Please read my post above, then go try to pull up VCP on a 1973 Topps #116 Yankees managers orange background.
i think it's the tone of the OP more than anything else. probably just a case of Burgundy being Burgundy.
Bobby should respond in third person.
Raw: Tony Gonzalez (low #'d cards, and especially 1/1's) and Steve Young.
Hammered -- I know there are some "issues" with some card numbers (also look at Yellow/White etc.) the way you need to find these are understanding how they list them in the system (in your case, you cannot find it because of the store number being listed as 116-orng) But I know there are many "quirks" in all systems.
Ron -- I wasn't going after you, but that I see so many posts about x & y don't work, so why don't they fix it... I think in the years on this board, anything which was brought to Bobby's, he worked on ways to fix it. I remember when he was getting beat up about slow servers, prices he charges, etc. But Bobby replies and tells why things work the way they work.. I guess I wouldn't have been so brash if I saw that "I contacted Bobby but he won't fix it."

I see what you are saying and it is a problem that we will get fixed.
Thanks
I posted this here exactly because it was possible Bobby would come on and respond. I appreciate the response, and will hope for a solution. I don't have any desire to go join another message board, especially one owned by the site that has very little traffic, to get a response. Although given the way things are around here now, maybe I should rethink that.
As for my tone, I really don't make any apologies for it. I pay for the service and doing a search by player name (or by the title of the card) that works ought to be a given. I don't know all the numbers of the cards and doubt anyone else does either. I also doubt I'm the first person to ever raise this issue.

You are the first person to raise this issue and when ever you see a problem at VCP at the bottom right side of every page is "Report a Problem on this Page". If you use this we get a url to the page in question and makes it easier to fix it faster and we do respond to this as well.
Thanks
