Short description of the purpose of your site

I consider that as a numismatist we have a responsibility to enjoy our hobby and prepare a new generation of collectors to follow us.

Sorry dealers this is a private affair between collectors, nothing personal

Mine is in my signature. It's a photo site as I spent a lot of time with photography. I have over 10,000 images on it.

My numismatic section is locked but if anyone wants to see it I am a PM away...I just don't want the general public to be seeing it. Be forewarned though, it's all scans!

    I have no Website

I agree that there is a duty to share knowledge and kindle interest in numismatics...

There is something that needs to be added... we have a larger duty to pass on coins in a reasonable condition in terms of the state of preservation- I have always been concerned that this generation of collectors has been to self absorbed with enhancing coins to maximize a grade instead of enjoying the coin for what it is and should be. Unfortunately, the population of original coins has dwindled dramatically and it is quite sad that more has not been done to separate the "dipped and enhanced schlock" from the attractive original coins. More needs to be done so dealers, collectors and the hobby in general truly appreciate the difference-

In terms of this actually happening, I suspect this is right up there with asking for World Peace and an end to World Hunger

Experience the World through Numismatics...it's more than you can imagine.

    my collection

a never-ending work in progress. now that I am almost caught up with all the scans, I have learned some tweaks to improve them, so I will probably start scanning all over, again.

I have a philatelic website that has a link (rather hard to find) for my Roman coin collection HERE. Other parts of my site have links to coin related exhibits such as "Paying The Postage" which is HERE, and and article on Colorado Territorial Gold which is HERE.

It is funny, these have been rather well received by the philatelic community and the postal history rather less so by the numismatic community.

Nope. And I wouldn't have the faintest idea how to go about making one, either.

Yes, I am partnering up with someone to product the blog which you can see in my sigline below. New articles are added all the time and we've been lucky enough to have one of our stories picked up by Coin World in the USA just in the last couple of weeks.

In my sig line below. I just updated the WWI gallery over the holidays and I am now working on a new updated website with these galleries and much more (look at description on goetz site). I'm probably a good six to eight months out on the new site which will contain minimally about 1500 pages (and all reachable with a maximum of three clicks). Just the planning has taken several years.

Additionally, you can find another web site I created for the medallist Ludwig Gies here: Ludwig Gies This is a funky little site that will be updated and added to the Goetz site where I will be showing Goetz's peers and their work.

It is kind of personal, because if it weren't for the dealers that support the hobby and THIS website and forum, many collectors would not have been able to put together some of the fantastic collections and individual coins that we have been privileged to enjoy . The only difference between a non-commercial website and a commercial website, is that if you see a coin you like on a commercial website, you can instantly add it to your collection. I can tell from Google Analytics that some folks spend hours going through my website without ever buying a thing, which is totally cool with me. I think that the images we post on our site are some of the best out there and over the last few years have received hundreds of emails from collectors and dealers alike who have used the site as a resource. I don't mean to start a ruckus, but have to call it like I see it. Ultimately, we all share a passion for the same hobby. Some of us are just fortunate enough to make a living dealing with our passion. JMHO
