genessis2008

His game is that he lives in Canada and will message sellers that didn't use d/c that he never received the cards hoping for a refund. I was actually about to give him the refund until another seller warned me about the scam. I reported him to ebay but they obviously won't do anything about it.

  • As far as I know you can only file 3 charges a year of nonreceipt, he probably has already done that, and hope some give in without that formality.

  • If you ship to Canada, will the customs paperwork prove that it was shipped to cover a dispute? or is the DC needed?

Every time you ship for eBay auctions you have to get the delivery conformation. You must have online tracking. I got burnt with the same scam. I got insurance on the package which has a tracking #, but you can't track it online. Stay in accordance with paypals shipping rules, then you are covered.

The only practical one that currently flies with EBAY/PP is USPS EMI.

    It's about $30.00.

    .....................................

Both FDX and UPS claim to have PP-compliant services, but they
cost a fortune and are not reliable; an extra "courier fee" is often
attached on the buyer's end, which guarantees NEG FB.

From what I was told by the other guys he's scammed, the guy actually never follows through with the paypal claim and is just hoping for a refund from the seller without ebay/paypal stepping in. It's only $25 either way, so it's not going to destroy my life even if he does file a claim.

Walter, sadly I didn't fly off the handle like I should've. I just told him that I know his game and to go pound sand. I think I need to wait until the afternoon when my 3 Red Bulls start kicking in to send messages to knobgobblers like this guy. My heart just wasn't in it this morning.

    DC is still needed.

About 6-8 weeks ago I purchased some sticker packs off ebay for approximately $55; I know delivery can be slow, so I waited, then filed right before deadline, continued to wait, filed at the deadline for a claim. Seller gave me a prompt refund. He has great feedback and I really honestly believe he was not scamming me. If they show up, I'll send the money back to him.

This is the only bad case I've had with International shipping.

    Thanks Lee.

Here's another Canadian con artist: magnolia-lane-09. Claimed he - Paul Fisher is his name, by the way, from Toronto - never received my item. Filed a paypal claim fast, without ever contacting me. I've emailed him several times without a response. Total con man.

He'll be getting a phone call soon though from my Canadian counsel. I may not get my money back from the paypal gestapo but I'm going to send a message to him. Texas.

A PSA error in labeling it as such. TPG's make them all the time as none of them are perfect. Doesn't prove it's an official reprint because if it did then your auctions/listings wouldn't keep getting pulled now would they?

Customs status is proof of nothing, as far as PayPal is concerned.

USPS Express Mail International is the bulletproof way to send items
internationally, when PayPal is in the mix. About $30.00.

So it's OK for a professional grading company to screw up on the terminology but not a novice collector?

I spoke with customer service on eBay yesterday and the woman, as well as her supervisor, said eBay's policy for counterfeit or reprint cards is to not allow them even if official reprint from company I asked about replica coins, they said "OK to list but trading cards no" Then I ask why my auctions and only mine, their answers were that it is the members who police the site (first time they ever admitted this to me). The only logical explaination I have for that is that someone in particular is reporting the listing, probably someone who puts the item number on these forums each time they are listed?

Now who would it be on this forum doing that? Sounds like paranoia is sitting in.

And by the way it isn't only yours being pulled. I know of a site that loves to report these things and yesterday out of eight auctions reported, four were removed.
  • BarfvaderBarfvader Posts: 2,859 ✭✭✭✭
And BTW it's common knowledge that members police the site although eBay staff does as well. Plus once you have had an auction/listing removed for such things it makes it easier for them (like a red flag) to remove them when a person re-lists the same item even if the wording is changed. People have also had their accounts suspended in the past for re-listing items over and over when they know they are are not allowed because when an item is pulled you do get a reason for it being removed.
