So is anyone else disappointed that there is no new slab?

Just curious.

I was really looking forward to some kind of edge view holder to reslab my whole collection in.

I was really looking forward to more security features in a slab.

I was really looking forward to a new slab that had some kind of top label Like SEGS or ANACS has.

I'm very glad they kept it relatively the same.

Look at Anacs, they change slabs like Europe changes governments.

Not to mention that they have 2-3 different types of slabs being produced at any given time!

I was hoping for a nice slab like this one:

I knock Anac's slabs, but actually, out of all the slabs from every company, this Anacs slab is my favourite.

I think it's the nice pocket size that appeals to me.

Something along the lines of "never cry wolf" comes to mind.
  • They missed the train on this one! they should have added many new features to the slabs instead of SecurePlus and the new certification numbering system.....edge view, anti-counterfeit, top-label, new color....

As soon as the term "big one" came out, my expectations were quite low.
The effects won't be known to most people for a while. I'm sure coin grading just got closer to balanced between entities.

    Agree. Especially more anti-counterfeiting features.

Thank goodness no. Those should only be used for lettered edge coins or Saints. The NGC slabs look horrible, especially on smaller coins, and photos of coins in new NGC slabs look lousy with the tabs.

Does this mean coins in old slabs, may be highly collectable in the future?
I have several early NGC, PCGS, and ANACS slabs that are staying in their respective holders.
I was hoping PCGS would announce that they will pay moon money for goof up inserts image

I have always liked the SEGS slabs because you could see the label while the coin was in its box. I was hoping that PCGS would do the same.

Yes. I want them to get rid of the delicate little stacking tabs that occasionally cause a coin to be returned. --Jerry
