Has there been any impact on the CU stock price as a result of The Big One announcement?
Part of the allure of The Big One announcement is the privilege of resubmitting your coins to get the coveted Gold Shield, or the even more excessively rare Plus Sign. I believe this will result in significantly more revenue for CU/PCGS, which is a good thing.
For the stock guys in the house, has there been any effect on the CU stock price as a result of The Big One announcement?

Yes, but doing the math to calculate a percentage gain or loss from one day to the next is really difficult.

hmmm.. no change in price equals a 0% gain... did that one in my head
maybe i'm wrong though, it could also have been a 0% loss

Well, they apparently only want to grade things once instead of 40 times, so I am looking for a 97.5% drop any time now....
and the + is for grades 45 - 68, but not 60 nor 61.... 69 is not eligible.
maybe i'm wrong though, it could also have been a 0% loss
Assuming that regrades and resubmissions account for 20% of that revenue, (which I think is a liberal guess, but there's no way to tell for sure (today!) because of crackout resubmissions), and then factoring in that of that 20%, maybe 5 to 10% would fall into the tiers that might be eligible for the full SecurePlus service today,
I'd say the overall impact will be negligible for the immediate future.

Todays volume was only on average
I would assume that todays news was already baked into the price and recent run up
I'm somewhat surprised that the stock didn't sell off on the news.

Fellas, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pockets you better use them to call a tailor. Stay thirsty my friends......

Totally agree! Especially the way the boards were full of discontent at the initial announcement.

I haven't even sorted out what the announcement is yet, although PCGS did receive my last submission.
I don't think I'll get any "plus" signs.

I firmly believe in numismatics as the world's greatest hobby, but recognize that this is a luxury and without collectors, we can all spend/melt our collections/inventories.

<< <i>But if the process works in some way to stop resubmisions, you might expect a drop in revenue and corresponding decrease in share price. >>
Ok with the fact that there are about 18 million coins already graded it will take a while for that to matter. Ooop forgot about all the ones that where done elswhere.
Hoard the keys.
