Downgrading Coins?

So, it would seem an interesting question now would be to see if a downgraded coin with a "+" designation becomes more valuable than the next higher base grade.
In other words, if you have an MS-65 coin, would it be more valuable or sell better if it was downgraded to an MS-64+ due to market perception?!

IMO, not in the same generation holder. In other words, a "Secure+ era" 65 should sell for more than a 64+, but the latter could sell for more than a 65 in a generation of holder that was perceived to be less conservative. But in reality, we have no way to know until we have some real market data. I would suspect it's not likely in most cases, but it wouldn't surprise me if it happened from time to time, much as some AU-58s sell for more than MS-61s.
The MS-64+ just reaffirms that a TPG believes this coin is a solid 64, but also PQ for the grade, but still not quite up to 65 level.
This is my interpretation at least.
As for $$$, this is still dictated by demand and the opinions of collectors

All else being equal, you should pay the exact same price since the coin is the same.
