In the photo the coin looks off center to me. Keep working on it
Nice coin dude! MJ
Walker Proof Digital Album Fellas, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pockets you better use them to call a tailor. Stay thirsty my friends......
Nice first picture (actually second since you took a picture of the light with the DSLR, right?) Do you mind taking a photo of the full setup that you use? I'm just now getting into coin photography and am always looking for ideas on what other use.

I was considering a new Nikon D5000, however it will not meter older manual focus Nikon lenses.
Since I still own a lot (See Below) Nikon manual focus gear from the 35mm film era metering was somewhat important.
So I purchased a Nikon D200 Body over the weekend, which I just familiarized myself with today.
My image below was taken with a Nikon 55mm f2.8 AIS Micro manual focus lens, a tripod, and a pair of PAR20 Halogen 50w floods.

I've been in the same boat for years as I felt it was a grand investment for something that becomes obsolete rapidly with continual evolving technology. So I've just played with point-n-shoots, until recently when I felt I'm limiting myself. I've only been playing with this Digital SLR for a few hours and feel like I was tossed behind an F-15. So it will take a few weeks until I figure things out.
Here's another raw shot.

get a SIGMA lens. Half the price and same quality pictures. Plus their warranty service is awesome. My friend broke his lens and they sent him a new one and he got it the very same day!!!

I am getting the sigma 150mm and it's $730 BIN on Ebay...I can't get the cheaper model as it has to have HMS becuase the D5000 don't have the built in autofocus drive so the lens has to be AF-S or HMS
I have seen those coins in person and your pics are really true to life.... as a buyer looking to receive the coin I am seeing in a photo , I would be a happy camper. Sure beats those photos with vivid and non-existant colors.
